How long have you
been working for
OmniSTAR BV?
[JK]
I started to work
for OmniSTAR in
April 2004 as Office
Manager. Before that
I worked at several
departments of
another Fugro
operating company. I work part
time within
OmniSTAR. On
Monday's,
Wednesday's and Friday's I am usually in the office.
My main task involves
the handling of all incoming
calls. I am in
contact with
everybody from the
company. I arrange all the logistics of travel (visas &
passports, transport
&
accommodations) for all
our managers. They
travel often to
fairs and to meet our
distributors
worldwide. I also
keep an eye on office
supplies (- smile - from paper clips to the good working of the
coffee-machine). I
take care of agendas
for meetings but
also update the
staff holidays
overviews, etc.
What do you like the
most about your
current function?
[JK]
I am a "people
person" so what
I enjoy the most are
the contacts with
customers on the
phone. You get to
know people better,
sometimes you even recognize their
voice, and it allows me
to speak various
languages. My recent
Spanish conversation
lessons are quite
useful - smile.
I
also enjoy arranging
travel arrangements.
It is quite often a
challenge to find
suitable connections
for the flights of managers and
find nice hotels. I travel
myself a lot
whenever possible. I
have lived abroad
for 16 years so it's
nice that OmniSTAR
is an international
company, which gives
me the opportunity
everyday to get in
contact with people
from all over the
world.
The
"Team
spirit" is
something I try to
stimulate via what
we call the
Friday afternoon
"Borrel",
an informal drink
between colleagues.
When there is an
event to celebrate
(a big order, a
birthday or a
farewell party) I
always like to
arrange something
extra to share this
moment together.
Anything else you
would like to share
with our readers?
About your passion
for traveling or
about other
activities you
enjoy?
[JK]
My hobbies include golf
(which I like to
practice also during
my holidays abroad),
fitness, tennis and
traveling. My last
travel was to Abu
Dhabi.
Since
10 years I am back
in the Netherlands
but before that I
lived in Brunei,
Scotland and
East-Malaysia as my
husband works for a
multinational
company.
And
last but not least I
have two great
children: Paula (22)
and Frits (20).
