  Dear OmniSTAR partners,

Although it is already September and we have a dynamic and successful period behind us there is still a lot to come in 2007. This newsletter will give you a glance at the news and developments that are taking place within and around our organization.

Just to mention a few:
- A major event every year is the upcoming INTERGEO exhibition in Leipzig. We will be there jointly with Fugro's Geospatial Services Companies to inform you about the latest developments for our services and products. We will introduce our new 5120VBS receiver this year. A very economical receiver with high performance characteristics. You can find more on this receiver also in this newsletter.
- To support new markets and to expand our business into new regions we have opened an OmniSTAR India office. There were also changes made to our, Leidschendam based, Sales team. Please meet our new teammembers in this newsletter.

We wish you a very successful autumn and hope to meet you during one of the upcoming events,

  5120VBS Introduction

OmniSTAR will launch a new VBS capable receiver in September 2007.

This receiver will bring new technology and improved functionality to our customers. The 5120VBS has an excellent GPS measurement performance. The 12 channel receiver allows to track up to 12 GPS satellites (when using OmniSTAR 11 GIS + 1 Geo stationary).

This receiver offers a new feature called coasting technology. Using the coasting technique the 5120 VBS receiver can work up to 20 minutes without an Omnistar correction update. The coasting technique estimates the deviation of the GPS satellites in view. Normally the last known corrections are used and they become invalid after +- 5 minutes. This enables our customers to work in unfavourable conditions, such as urban canyons or forests.

For more information about the 5120VBS, please visit our website at www.omnistar.nl.

DCVG Survey with OmniSTAR

OmniSTAR HP and VBS equipment and DGPS services have proven to be very useful for the utility sector. In this area OmniSTAR VBS is used for Cathodic Protection Surveys to locate coating faults of buried gas pipelines using e.g. a DCVG Direct Current Voltage Gradient technique as well as for mapping electrical cables and junction boxes alongside streets and roads. Another application in the utility sector is the Pipeline Corridor Survey for planning the exact route of a future pipeline for this application OmniSTAR HP is used.

Coordinate transformation for Oman

We have created with the help of Fugro Middle East a 14-Parameter transformation solution for Oman, (7-parameters+ 3 drift parameters) allowing us now to report coordinates directly in the Omani coordinate system. The transformation was established using 10 points and has an external accuracy of 5 cm.

Bluetooth device

Although traditional equipment still uses serial ports, newer equipment and PDA's are working more and more with bluetooth. Traditional equipment still uses serial ports. We now offer a Serial to bluetooth adapter, which draws it's power from the GPS receiver.

We can modifiy current receivers to work with a bluetooth device or ship new receivers with the bluetooth option.
